Kolodzeys of Texas

Johna Kolodziej was born in Staniszcze Wielkie Poland in May of 1820.   He enlisted for military service in 1863 during the US Civil War.  As early as 1870, Johna spelled his last name as "Kolodzey".   He raised a farm and a family in Dewitt, Texas with his wife Rosalia Maselli.  Although he died in 1884, his family has grown and remains in the Dewitt area to this day.
